Getting started
- Roster. Import a CSV of your faculty, or choose Explore Demo Department to try a fully populated, fictional department. It works offline, and Use My Own Roster… starts you fresh.
- Home institution. In Settings → General, set your institution. It helps FacultyIQ tell apart faculty with common names.
- Resolution. Click Auto-Resolve All to match faculty by ORCID or Scopus ID, use Search… for anyone left, then click Fetch Metrics.
- Explore. Open Dashboard, Profiles, Promotion, Funding and Network. Use the toolbar to focus on one division or cohort.
The core features need no account or API key; they use free public research databases. Scopus metrics need an Elsevier API key. AI summaries use Apple Intelligence on supported Macs, or an OpenRouter key you add.
Common questions
A faculty member's publications include someone else's papers.
Open Identity Audit. It flags works that look like they belong to someone else with the same name, with Not Theirs and Theirs buttons, and warns when a record looks like two people merged together. You can also use Ask … to Check… on the member's Activity tab to send them a verification packet, where they can mark each flagged paper as theirs or not.
A match shows "Verify".
The name search could not rule out someone else with the same name. In Resolution, use Change… to review the match, then Mark Verified.
Scheduled reports stopped appearing.
Choose the report folder again in Settings → Reports. macOS asks the app to confirm access again if the folder moved to another disk or its permissions changed.
I used the direct-download version before.
On first launch, the App Store version offers to copy your existing workspace. Your original files are left untouched.
